OK, I am soooo annoyed I ordered a new bra in my size from an online retailer, (i will not mention their name) and I waited a few days excited to get my order. it came today and I excitedly unwrapped it , only to find that they have sent me the wrong size!!! and what's worse, is on the refund policy note it says they are not responsible for the cost of return shipping!!! how can they expect me to pay for their mistake!! I was mad!!! this does not end here,I will get my refund or they are going to see the other side of me!!!! don't you hate it when stuff like this happens. I am sooooooooooo annoyed right now!!!!!!!

BEAUTY SECRET UNLOCKED: DA ZIT ZAPPER

Hiya guys so today i wanted to share with you one of my well kept beauty secrets.
If you have ever had one of those "i feel it coming zits" where it starts to throb underneath the surface of your skin and you can just feel it coming?? well have no fear, because help is here!
I get an ice cube and place it directly on the "throbbing" area (usually i run the cube under some warm water if the ice is a Lil dry to avoid any "frost shock" ) and hold it for one minute, then wipe off the water and apply some tea tree oil unto a cotton wool ball and dab it on the area. go to bed and i promise you, you will see the difference.
This technique also works if you already have the zit. by applying ice and tea tree on it, the swelling will go down and the zit will dry out.
try it ladies and let me know how it goes.

Hey ppl. now too many times we see ourselves trying to imitate the skinny celebs we see on tv, the rhiannas, beyonces etc, but isn't it time we celebrate sistas like us,those with bums, thighs and tums. I am a plus size diva and proud of it because I believe the shape the Lord has given me is beautiful and so I celebrate it! size zero???? no thanks! give me bootilicious anyday! lol.
so I decided to start this series which I title 'a celebration of curves'. which is to amplify and celebrate the thicker and more natural sisters out there.
this week I am celebrating the Lady Jill Scott. she is simply talented, beautiful and stunning. she carries herself with great poise and shes got the booty to do it it! Jill scott I salute you. (btw... dont u just love that dress!)
These photos are a great example that you can look fantastic no matter what size you are! dont let your mind limit your style! a wrap dress is everyone's friend, if you dont have one, then go out and get one!

HEY PPL!
I know I have been gone for a good minute, but i simply did not have enough time to blog! alot has happened over the last few months and I'm just trying to catch up.
firstly i got hit by the credit crunch and i was laid off from work :-( which was annoying cos i could not shop as much as i wanted to. luckily the time i had off helped me to discover a new but economical way of spending. it really taught me alot and helped me to curb my spending :-). i re-discovered primark and superdrug products like barry m and Gosh and I really love those products they have become my go to products. the good news is that in the time i had off I graduated from make up school so I am now a professional makeup artist,I have been doing alot of freelance makeup work and I have also recently worked on a music video. It was such fun (I'll do a separate blog on this)!! and I also got a great job which i totally love so the hauling continues lol!
Its really been a bit of a roller coaster but I am a strong believer that when one door closes another opens up! this has definitely been the case for me!
oh btw i thought id try something a lil different with my hair, let me know what you think?

It's all politics!: Meet Nick Griffin the RACIST!

Now I am not usually one to get involved in politics but last night I had the opportunity to watch Mr Griffin on Question time (BBC1). For those that do not know who Mr Griffin is, He is the Leader of the British National Party (BNP) basically the UK equivalent to the KKK. I decided to watch the show because there was so much uproar abut him appearing on question time. people were holding protests outside the BBC offices! It was really a big deal! After watching it I wasn't at all surprised at the statements Mr Griffin made, the guy is a racist what do you expect him to say?. I was a bit annoyed at the fact that question time had a largely mixed audience for once in the lifetime of the show, what exactly were they trying to prove. Usually the audience is almost completely Caucasian. plus all the other politicians were trying to use him to make themselves appear better when recent times have shown that their ideals are not that far from his! One thing I will say about Mr Griffin is that at least he is open about being a racist although he doesn't like to label himself with that word, in essence that is exactly what he is! His policies are near to Hitler's' and he sees nothing wrong with that! He is clearly a dangerous man but my question is "How did his party get two seats in parliament?" these people can raise protests against him and say what they will, but somebody out there voted for this racist! and that is why he had the audacity to appear on national TV and spew evil words from his rotten and stinking mouth!
I do not blame Nick for his appearance on QT, a racist is a racist. I blame the other racists that voted him in.

WINTER WORKWEAR: TIS THE SEASON ...

As we approach another winter :-( I thought it nice to re-evaluate the old wardrobe and see what I could salvage and recycle. As winter dawns upon us I for one have a tendency to withdraw back into my 'monochrome' wardrobe - alot of black, some whites and the occasional grey! I guess when it gets really cold I just want to curl up and keep warm and all fashion logic goes out the window! But this year I have decided to jazz things up a little. I have invested in several fashion how to books, courtesy of my local charity shops and I have been really blessed with some ideas. to bring a sparkle into your winter wear add a touch of colour.e;g a bright scarf or an interesting accessory like a brooch or coloured tights or a statement necklace. the simplest things really can can make the biggest difference.
Also adding texture to the clothes, for example instead of buying a simple white shirt, buy a white shirt with ruffles or pinstripes. buy clothes with added character if you are not big on accessories but if you are like me an accessory queen a simple white shirt can be vamped up with a few bits and bobs.
also a statement coat is a big yes! one that is tailored, stylish and most importantly warm!

LOVES IT: COLOURED TIGHTS!

HEY LADIES! just wanted to do a quckie post on my latest love: coloured tights!! I so would NEVER have gone for anything like this like a year ago! but my new found love for colour just keeps on growing each and everyday!
I absolutely love them. We are a minute away from winter and I think most of us have the tendency to go "all black" and dark and dim colours in the winter but my focus this winter is to add a splash of colour to my wardrobe to chase away those winter blues! and what better way to do this than to throw on a pair of coloured tights! :-)
I was recently at my local "primarni" (primark lol) and I got myself 3 different pairs of tights: in Burgundy red, cobalt blue and lilac. I almost got the neon pink, but I dont know where i would rock those to, lol. Anywho at only $1.00 a pair. I just could not resist!! I still want a darker purple and a green pair but they did not have my booticious size in stock :-( but for us curvier ladies I found out that Evans have them in for a fiver each.(not bad!)
If you are not so sure about coloured tights ..try em' out in store, you may be pleasantly surprised!

F.O.T.D: NEUTRAL GLAM-AMOUR!

SUP! Y'ALL this is a look I wore to church a few days ago, I was going for something neutral but with a shimmer edge! I'm not a huge fan of all matte make-up so I like to add a little shimmer to all my looks, I just think a lil 'glow' goes a long way :-). I am totally loving the maybelline e/s right now! it's suppose to be a dupe of MAC satin taupe but its alot lighter but stills work well on brown skin. Also I totally love the milani eyeshadows. I really need to do a blog on them, they are worth getting people! I slept on them for far too long! Anywho hope you like the look....

Hey guys! after seeing this pic of the lovely rhe-rhe with neon pink lips i though I'd give it a try. now I know we are not the same complexion but I think darker ladies could easily pull this off!
I got the lippy from boots No17 and the colur is Pink power- it was £4.99 such a steal and its very similar to MACs pink novenou which I have also. loves it!

BIG BOOBS: BLESSING or CURSE???

Yes ladies today we are talkin about boobies, mammeries, jugs, hot cakes whateva you call em' they are on the table today lol.
I just had to do an entry on this cause it has been on my mind for a good minute.
I am one of those ladies who has been "blessed' with a bigger bust and although I understand that alot of ladies out there with smaller chests who crave bigger boobs, I can honestly say that its not all its cracked up to be (no pun intended lol)
It can be really frustrating! especially when it comes down to shopping for clothes! tailored shirts in particular!
it is almost impossible to find a shirt that will button up properly without looking like you are wearing a tent. the shirts are either too big so you end up looking like a whale or they are too small around the chest and all the buttons are popping and you are looking like Popeye after a spinach overdose! lol!
and don't get me started on maxi dresses or any dress with an empire line! they just do not go over the booby area! pure nightmare!
Don't get me wrong there are alot of perks to having a fuller bust, for one you feel super feminine that's a good thing, plus they make any outfit that bit sexier!
Hate it or Love they are here to stay. just wanted to vent a Lil. :-)
Have you had problems with fitting clothes on any area of your body pls feel free to vent.

Hey guys! oh my goodness I am soooo in love with harem pants right now! they are soooooooooo comfy yet stylish!
I first came across them when i watching 'fashion fix' with GOK WAN who styled them on a pear shaped lady. at first I thought they would make her look bigger but it really flattered her figure, so I was out shopping (again!lol) and I popped into 'primani' aka 'primark..lol.. and they were selling these harem pants for 5 pounds!! so i decided to try em on and I LOVED THEM!!! they are incredible comfy, you can dress em' up or dress em' down and they flatter sistas with bootys (extra bonus)! they are definitely my new fashion fix!
they are also great to wear in winter with a pair of long boots!!
I love them!

WHAT A WASTE!

I stumbled across this photo a few weeks ago and thought 'how stoopid' and I was reminded of it by a fellow blogger so I decided to write a piece on it.
The shot is of the lovely cindy crawford and it supposedly demonstrates cutting carbs out of your diet to maintain a svelte figure....Atkins and all that jazz!
my opinion is: I originally come from Africa, which is a third world country and there is alot of poverty and starvation and to see a "supermodel" tear up a loaf of bread as a fashion statement really annoys me!
now dont get me wrong; next to naomi, tyra, and alec, cindy crawford is one of my favorite supermodels I think she is gorgeous but I also think that the media should be more discerning on the way they represent beauty. I for one do not believe that beauty is found in only supermodels or super skinny women. Being a 'thick' girl myself I love the way I look and I would not exchange my curves for anything in the world.
I believe no matter what skin colour, shape, size or height you are, you possess beauty. you are the most gorgeous (insert your name here)e.g 'sally smith' there is and no body can take that away from you.
so in short, enjoy life and EAT SOME BREAD! I know I will....lol..

THE 28 NEUTRAL PALETTE DISASTER!

MAN! I ordered the 28 neutral palette from ebay and this is how it arrived!!!! urrrggghhhhh its soo annoying! it came all the way from hong kong so i guess it got dropped in transit. its such a shame cause i waited like 7 days for it to arrive only to find it all in a mess. I managed to clean it up (see photo 2) but it took like forever and a day!!!
oh well. the good thing about it is that I emailed the seller and he has promised to send me a new one free of charge (we like that!!). so fingers crossed it will arrive in mint condition.

HEY LADIES! This is my Hair of the season look. I decided to twist my hair because in London the weather was becoming too hot and I needed a style that was simple to manage but would allow my hair/scalp to breathe so I called up my stylist and she hooked me up! The hair I used is called 'elysee afro kinky hair' in colour 1B and the lenght is 24 inches. I loves it! it so simple and easy to style. the possibilites are endless! lol... just thought I'd share it with y'all. I'd be lying to myself if I let this season pass and not pay my respects to MJ. in all honesty I am still in shock! I am finding it really hard to believe that he is no longer with us. This is someone I grew up listening to, he almost felt like a distant member of the family and now he is no more. its sooooo sad... when I heard the news I broke down in tears, I just could not believe it. I was devastated! can't believe he is really gone! time really waits for no man! and you must be sure you make peace with your maker before the final trumpet sounds. I thank God for the talent he bought into the world through Michael and I rest assured that he will continue to live on through his music for many more decades to come. I just wanted to take this time out to thank Mr Jackson for his wonderful influence and the talent he shared with us all. Rest in Peac3.

WP Mascara review: Maybelline Turbo boost WP

Name: Maybelline Turbo Boost WP in Black
Promises to: deliver 5x volume instantly with long lasting waterproof anti- clump formula.
Awards: Healthy Beauty Awards in Best Waterproof mascara category.
Price: £4.88

My findings:
1. Application: it does give you incredible lashes, the photo below is two coats of this mascara and it is phenomenal it really made me look like I was wearing falsies. Love that!
2. Longevity: It did not clump or flake through out the day, as a matter of fact by the evening time it still looked as fresh as it did in the morning.
3. Water resistance: It really is waterproof I wore it to church last Sunday and I got a little teary and this baby did not budge! Excellent!!
4. The take off: Being a waterproof mascara it is harder to take off than regular mascara, which is what I expected. It came off really well with an oil based makeup remover. And without me losing any of my lashes.

What I liked about it: It does exactly what it says and it’s a great price.
What I didn’t like: lashes can feel a little hard but not really stiff, but I guess that’s a given with any WP mascaras.
Mark out of 10: 9/10 – because it’s really that good!

Oh I really adore this colour! this is 3 coats of Sinful Colors in "Love Nails" it is a beautiful turquoise colour with a hint of shimmer it really made my skin colour pop and I totally love it!
Lately I have really been into Sinful Colours. I discovered it through a colleague who was rocking a beautiful shade and she told me all about it and gave me the web address. its originally an American company but they have a UK based website which is where I get them from. In the UK they are not available in the stores but you can order them direct from sinfulcolours.co.uk for £2.99 each.
It is very sheer but also very buildable as you can see.
It is DEFINITELY another great colour for summer ladies! so run out and get it :-)

oh my goodness I know I have been such a bad blogger..totally MIA for the last few months but I am back...lol and I am on prowl in THE SEARCH FOR THE PERFECT WATERPROOF MASCARA.
so far my favorite to date and which I have been using for the last five years is the Maybelline's Volume Express mascara in waterproof. This baby will not let you down! trust me. I went to a crusade last year and cried a river and this baby did not budge a bit! love it! but I have decided to venture out and see if I can find any other mascaras that will stand the test of good Ole' H20. my next victim will be the Volume Express Turbo Boost Mascara in black. l will review it and get back to you ladies soon so watch this space.....

Recently I have been making more of an effort to care for my hair, many thanks to bloggers like hairlicious inc and K.I.S.S and one of the tips I picked up was to clarify my hair ( WHICH IS LIKE A DEEP CLEANSE) once a month - basically it strips all impurities and build up of products in your hair.
so on a recent shopping trip I picked up nexxus aloe rid gentle clarifying shampoo. I heard nexxus was a really good brand so I thought id give it a try.
to be honest the whole concept of striping my hair of all products kinda scared me cause I feared it would leave it too dry and that it would take ages to remoisturize it. but I was wrong!
This shampoo is a God-send!!! seriously I was a bit skeptical about if it would really work but it does and it does so really well!!
my scalp feels really clean and clear, its amazing. I also love the smell its really nice!!
I washed my hair with the nexxus shampoo once then i washed it with my regular shampoo just to check if my hair was really clean and it was! absolutely no dirt at all.
I did follow the shampoo with a deep conditioning treatment to restore moisture into my hair and I used AtOne Botaincal reconstructor conditioner. This is also another great product and it only cost me £1.99!!
all in all I would give this product a 10/10. go out and get it!! its great! loll!

I know I’m posting a lot today but it’s been a while and I have a lot to say! Lol. So bear with me please.
This is just a quick review on TRESemme vitamin e moisture rich conditioner.

Superdrug (uk drugstore) is doing a 2 for 1 offer on this so I picked it up. It’s a really great deal. I got 2x 900ml bottles for only £4.20…. now that’s a steal! With all of that, I think I have enough conditioner for the whole of 2009..lol.

So I have been viewing a few hair blogs to mention a few Hairlicious, The coarse hair diaries and KISS and I’m trying to treat my hair better now. Lord knows I haven’t been the kindest to my fro’ in the last few years. So I’m making up for lost time.
I’ve recently come across the concept of co-washing, which I hadn’t heard of before I read these blogs. (for those that don’t know what a co-wash is, its basically washing your hair with a conditioner instead of a shampoo) so I decided to give it a try.
I used the TRESemme vitamin e moisture rich conditioner to co-wash the other day and my oh my, my hair is as soft as a pillow but still as strong as an ox! And oxy-moron I know but its totally fab! I didn’t think a product originally designed for Caucasian hair would work so well on my hair but I guess I was wrong. I highly recommend it! What other conditioners would you recommend? Let me know.

TOP TEN: GIRLY MUSTS FOR WINTER

Ok… over here in London the temperature keeps dropping and dropping. We are truly in winter now so I have decided to put together a list of a few of my recommendations for these cold winter months. It’s getting icier and icier by the minute. So here are my top ten things to keep you warm this season.

1. Gloves – I’d recommend getting two pairs, a wool set and a leather set. The woolly pair for when its cold and dry outside and the leather set for when its wet and cold, for example when it rains or snows- it will help keep your hands warm and dry cause the woolly ones are not waterproof and tend to absorb moisture really quick.

2. A woolly hat – to keep ur tresses free from stress on those windy days…Need I say more?

3. A Scarf – keep your neck and chest warm. A good idea is to use a pashmina scarf, because they are longer than most standard scarves, they come in different colours and they are light enough to layer and you can alter the shape to suit your style. Plus you can get them really cheap in central London.

4. Chap stick/Lip balm- now I know technically that you don’t wear this as a piece of clothing but you do wear it on your lips…. This is super essential! A total must! You must have a lip balm on you at all times! Especially in winter! There is nothing worse than cracked, dry peeling lips! Yuck! A great idea is to buy a pack of three and leave one everywhere you’ll be (in your car, work desk, handbag…etc)

5. Footless tights/ Leggings– Yes that’s right! Why invest in thermal underwear, when you can recycle your summer wardrobe. These are great to wear under you regular work clothes and they usually made of lycra and cotton so they are comfy, stretch and keep you extra toasty!

6. Men’s socks- these are much thicker than women’s socks so they are great to wear with boots and give extra warmth.

7. Summer Vests- theses are also great to wear inside your sweaters and jumpers. For extra warmth and comfort, also because they are made to fit they wont bulge under your jumper.

8. A good winter coat. The coat should accentuate and flatter you figure, we are trying to keep warm but not at the expense of style! If you have a smaller chest try a coat with a high neck. If you have a larger chest try a coat with a v neck (see pic) the length of the coat should depend on where you live, if like myself you live in London where snow is minimal then a during the winter a ¾ coat is long enough to keep you warm.

9. Polo necks. I feel these are uber essential for these cold winter months. I myself have these in almost every colour. And so should you and do not be afraid to accessorize it up with beads, long chains and scarves. The worlds your oyster baby! So work it! Lol.

10. Hand Cream- last but definitely not the least! Get a good hand cream, with vitamin E, C, or B, I myself I get a couple and (like my chap stick) keep it everywhere I am e.g. in my car, at my work desk etc. currently I use the vaseline hand and nail cream.

THINGS I LURVE: BURT BEES LIP SHIMMER

Oh my goodness I totally heart this! … I recently ordered a curling tong from HQHAIR.COM and I got this Burt bees lip shimmer in coffee for free! (£6 RRP)
Now usually I’m not really into tinted lip balms because past experiences have not been real good. The colours don’t usual show on my skin so I just didn’t go for them after that!
But this! Ooohhhhh it is the truth! I totally love it!! I’m glad I got it for free cause I probably would never have bought it but now… hmm I want me some more in ALL the colours..lol…
What I like about it is that its made of natural ingredients, it conditions your lips and the coverage is great, it glides onto your lips and it has this amazing tingle (really minty!) and it’s just like wearing a minty lipstick!
The colour is in coffee (I’m wearing it in this pic) and it looks a lot like Macs lipstick in paramount or photo…. It’s a really nice creamy brown. DA NALE FILE: NAIL VARNISH REVIEW- RIMMEL

Hey! I usually have my nails done up in acrylics, but since my last visit the acrylics have literally murdered my nails. I’ve decided to try and grow out my natural nails by getting regular manicures and trying out different nail varnishes.
This is my quick but informative review on Rimmel 60 seconds. Unfortunately I don’t have a swatch but hopefully the info I do have will be of some help.

So far I have tried a few and my most recent was the Rimmel 60 second nail varnish.

NAME: Rimmel 60 second
COLOUR: Rapid Ruby 320
WHAT IT PROMISES TO DO: 60 seconds
TEXTURE: good, spreads evenly. 2 coats give a good finish.
SHINE: very good.
HOW LONG DID IT LAST: 1 day!!!! Before it started to chip! And that’s without doing any washing up etc… Ridiculous!
OUT OF 10: 2/10
OVERALL REVIEW- looks nice, dries really quickly but last less than 24 hours! Not good.

Ok so my next “victim” was the Rimmel wear Maxx Nail Polish.
So far I have tried a few and my most recent was the Rimmel 60 second nail varnish

NAME: Rimmel wear Maxx (centre)
COLOUR: Electric 397
WHAT IT PROMISES TO DO: give great shiny colour, that goes on smooth and lasts for 10 days!
TEXTURE: very smooth, a little sheer at first but buildable. 2 coats gives a great finish.
SHINE: very good. The colour really complemented my skin tone
HOW LONG DID IT LAST: 2 days then the chipping began! (Again this is without doing any washing up etc…) very disappointed!
OUT OF 10: 1/10
OVERALL REVIEW- Great colour, smooth and shiny, but does not do what it says on the bottle. I gave it a lower mark because it did not deliver the 10 days. If you are going out and want to have a different colour just for that night then get this. If you want colour that lasts, pass it by!

And finally with Rimmel I tried; the “I love Lasting Finish” range
NAME: I love Lasting Finish
COLOUR: Tangerine Queen 050
WHAT IT PROMISES TO DO: be hardwearing, chip resistant and long lasting
TEXTURE: very smooth and creamy. 2 coats gave a great finish.
SHINE: ok. It was more of a matte colour but I liked it. It was the first time I had tried a bright colour on my nails.
HOW LONG DID IT LAST: 1 day! Again the chipping came!
OUT OF 10: 1/10
OVERALL REVIEW: the colour was really unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it for long.

My overall opinion on Rimmel: a bunch of chipping fools! Lol… I wont be buying any more of their polishes, I might ebay the ones I have cause I refuse to use them again!

OK so I’ve recently rediscovered MAC- I say rediscovered because,being a make up fan I tried out Mac a few years ago and because I didn’t understand how the colours worked and what shades I could wear that would show up on my skin and all the artist in store just could not help me so I gave up on it. It’s sad because the stores (in the UK) are filled with mostly Caucasian girls and when it comes down to black skin a lot of them are at a loss.
So I stuck with my bourjois and fashion fair. But recently I have become somewhat of a youtube fan and I have discovered hundreds of tutorials by women of colour (WOC). And I am really impressed. You all know who you are; fauryn78, scandalous beauty, renren, and diary of a make up artist. You have all really inspired me to “Get Back to MAC” I cannot believe how much I have learnt from just watching theses videos and more. I know the names of the colours, the brushes, the collections etc. Its crazy but I love it! I feel like my eyes have been open into this new world of colour! And I have invested in soooo many of them..lol… I need to slow down! Lol.. But this post is to thank all those beautiful women for reintroducing me Back to Mac!

So I have a thing for keeping my skin supple at all times. And usually I use Johnson’s baby gel oil which is really lovely on your skin, it keeps it moisturized and supple, so I’ve been using it for about three years since it was recommended to me by a co-worker. It’s also reasonably priced (£2.89 in boots) so it doesn’t break the bank and if you use it everyday it will last for approx.one month.
But I decided after hearing numerous reviews to try out a new product and now I think I’m in love!!!
I am totally head over heels in awe of Vaseline cocoa butter range. It is the truth!! Seriously. Not only does it keep you moisturized for like over 20 hours, but It also smells delish! It is yummy beyond yummy . Try it, I promise you that you wont regret it.
